The first recorded lottery to sell tickets for cash prizes was held in the Low Countries in the 15th century. Town records show that the money raised was used to finance town fortifications and help the poor.<\/p>\n
The chances of winning a lottery are very slim. However, there are ways to improve your chances of winning by purchasing a ticket for the right game.
