When it comes to state-sponsored lotteries, revenues expand rapidly upon introduction and then level off or decline over the long term. In order to maintain or increase revenues, lotteries must constantly introduce new games.<\/p>\n
This approach to promoting gambling raises a couple of questions. One is whether state-sponsored lotteries promote problem gambling and other negative consequences in society.
